This position is based at our Support Centre, currently in Kuilsriver, however our office will be moving to Tygervalley in August 2015.

Job Purpose:
The Visual Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the Shoe City visual merchandise strategy is implemented and executed in all stores.

This includes the in-store components of the promotion grid for advertising campaigns and to provide stores with seasonal plans regarding merchandise.

Qualifications:

  • Matric / Grade 12.
  • A marketing diploma or degree would be a definite advantage.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 - 4 years experience in a Visual Merchandising role within a retail environment is essential.
  • Experience in VM best practices and principles, techniques and VM trends as well as an excellent grasp of customer behaviour.
  • Experience within a marketing co-ordinator role would be advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages is essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail and outstanding organisational skills.
  • Flexible and willing to handle a variety of tasks.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and to report to requests timeously.
  • Systematic and thorough.
  • Able to work under pressure and deadline orientated.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and build relationships with the buying department, operations, suppliers, centre management and advertising agencies.
  • Be the store liaison pertaining to visual merchandising initiatives.
  • Support the above the line media initiatives by conceptualizing designs and ideas displaying the products of the store innovatively and attractively.
  • Responsible for the management and maintenance of store layouts and displays.
  • Management of time lines in order to deliver on projects and campaigns.
  • Responsible for the rollout of new store openings, renovations and closures with regards to equipment and visual merchandising.
  • Conduct competitor analysis.
  • To manage costs within a budget and co-ordinate the processing of invoices and ensure timeous payments thereof.
  • Assist Marketing Manager with adhoc projects as required.

Other:

  • Valid driver’s licence is essential.
  • This position is based at our Support Centre, currently in Kuilsriver, however our office will be moving to Tygervalley in August 2015.
  • This position will report to the Marketing Manager for Shoe City.
