Minimum educational qualification:

  • Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with mathematics and/or accountancy as a passed subject) and/or senior certificate with experience/competencies that focuses on the Key Performance Areas (KRA’s) of the post.


  • Appropriate experience in Asset Management Systems and processes.

Competencies (knowledge/skills):

  • Computer literacy (MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint), good interpersonal skills.
  • Function independently as well as within a group with good organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), National and Provincial Treasury regulations and policies.
  • Ability to communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.

Duties (key result areas/outputs):

  • Conduct asset counts and adhoc inspections.
  • Partake in the disposal of obsolete, redundant and unserviceable items in accordance with existing policies and procedures.
  • Barcoding and tracking of all assets.
  • Update and maintain the asset register with regard to equipment purchased, donated, transfers and condemning.
  • Provide administrative support to the supervisor.
  • Assist with the implementation of relevant asset management policies and procedures.
